Hughes Direct Primary Care was founded by Douglas S. Hughes, D.O., in February 2011 as the former Hughes Family Practice with the vision of creating a medical practice that treats every patient with dignity and first-rate care.

The Team
Douglas Hughes, D.O.
Dr. Hughes was born in Pontiac, Mich. He has lived in Southwest Florida off and on for the past 25 years. Dr. Hughes graduated from Florida State University with a B.S. in Biological Sciences in 1996. He received his Doctorate in Osteopathic Medicine from Nova Southeastern University College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2002. He finished his family medicine residency in Grand Blanc, MI, at Genesys Regional Medical Center in 2005.
Dr. Hughes has been practicing family medicine in Southwest Florida since 2006.
